Parasitic Draw Testing
Measure key-off current after the vehicle’s modules have gone to sleep, then isolate the circuit responsible for an abnormal battery drain.

Protect the meter and preserve the result
Prepare the vehicle
Turn off accessories, close or latch doors, keep keys away, and allow the specified sleep period.
Measure safely
Use the correct meter input and current range. Do not crank the engine or switch on high-current loads with the meter in series.
Isolate the circuit
After recording the stable draw, remove one fuse at a time and watch for a meaningful decrease.
Acceptable key-off current varies by vehicle. Compare the stable reading with manufacturer service information.
