What P0101 means
P0101 means the airflow measurement being reported does not agree with what the engine controller expects based on other operating data.
The MAF sensor itself may not be the cause; intake leaks, contamination, restrictions, wiring, or engine-performance problems can also trigger this code.

Contaminated or faulty MAF sensor
Contamination or internal faults can bias airflow readings.
Intake leak
Unmetered air downstream of the sensor can make calculated and measured airflow disagree.
Electrical problem
Power, ground, signal, or connector faults can affect sensor output.
Airflow restriction
Restricted filters or intake components can change airflow characteristics.

Start here
Inspect the intake tract
Check ducting, clamps, filter condition, and connections downstream of the sensor.
Review MAF live data
Compare airflow readings with engine RPM, load, and expected behavior.
Inspect the sensor and connector
Check contamination, terminal condition, power supply, ground, and signal integrity.
Check for related fuel-trim codes
Lean or rich codes can provide additional diagnostic direction.
