What P0300 means

A misfire occurs when one or more cylinders fail to produce normal combustion. P0300 is used when misfire activity is detected across multiple cylinders or when the control module cannot consistently identify a single affected cylinder.

The code does not identify one failed part. Ignition faults, fuel-delivery problems, vacuum leaks, low compression, timing issues, and engine-management faults can all cause P0300.

Note engine temperature, RPM, load, fuel trims, and the conditions present when the code was set.

Check spark plugs, coils, wires where equipped, connectors, and signs of arcing or contamination.

Check fuel delivery

Verify fuel pressure, injector operation, and fuel quality where appropriate.

Check for vacuum or intake leaks

Look for unmetered-air sources that can create a lean condition across multiple cylinders.
