What can trigger P0301?
Cylinder 1 ignition fault
A worn plug, weak coil, damaged wire, or poor electrical connection may prevent proper ignition.
Injector or fuel problem
Cylinder 1 may have a restricted, electrically faulty, or poorly supplied injector.
Low compression
Valve, ring, head-gasket, camshaft, or valvetrain problems can reduce cylinder contribution.
Localized intake leak
An intake leak near cylinder 1 may create a cylinder-specific lean condition.

Can I keep driving with P0301?
Driving may be possible if the misfire is mild, but avoid continued driving if the check-engine light is flashing, the engine is shaking heavily, or power is significantly reduced. An active misfire can damage the catalytic converter.
