P0456 indicates an EVAP leak smaller than the leak represented by many P0442 conditions.
Tiny hose cracks, seals, caps, valves, fittings, or canister leaks can be difficult to locate visually.

What can trigger P0456?
Small sealing leak
A cap seal, O-ring, or connection may leak slightly.
Tiny hose crack
A small split in EVAP plumbing may only leak under certain conditions.
Valve leakage
A purge or vent valve may fail to seal completely.

Can I keep driving with P0456?
This fault is generally less likely to require immediate shutdown. The condition should still be diagnosed and repaired, particularly if additional warning lights or drivability symptoms are present.
